Hash Bash originated in the early 1970s as a protest against the strict marijuana laws of the time. Over the years, it has evolved into a combination of a protest, a festival, and an educational forum. Participants gather on the University of Michigan's campus in Ann Arbor to advocate for the decriminalization and legalization of marijuana, as well as to celebrate the cannabis culture.

Hash Bash has brought over 10,000 people together to celebrate Cannabis Reform for over 53 years. This is the largest cannabis event in the United States.
